Has it really only been three days? I'm not nodding off at my computer (yet) like I was last night - though I was doing it rather quickly this afternoon in the office. I am so not made to behind a desk, though admittedly that should get better after I'm more adjusted to my schedule and I have more active projects.

Wanted to check in and say my mom's surgery went well on Monday. We're not really gonna catch up til this weekend when she's at the rehab center and I'm not so dead-on-my-ass tired at the end of my day. If you know anything about the ACCUPLACER test, I'd be interested in talking with you. Also, any American job-searching tips or particularly good web resources would be much loved. I'm building up my library of materials.

Tomorrow I'll get to visit a few more classes - the highest levels we offer and I know several of the students there - both in the morning and afternoon. I only visited during the morning today and that was just such a difference from what I ended up doing in the afternoon - sitting at my desk and trying to keep my eyes open. ;;^_^ I need to sort out this new e-mail situation tomorrow so I have a more "official" label when I reach out to contacts. Also need to figure out how to hook up my laptop to the office printers. (Ooh the adventures I'll have!)

But yeah. Exhaustion is like frying my brain. I dazedly watch my shows and read fic - mostly on the bus actually. White Collar fic (OT3! OT3!) has me hooked, though I've also done a reread of my Mentalist Crimson & Gold series. When I get up the energy to write, I'd like to wrap up Roses Are Red (it's so close to done!).

Ooo, that could be handy. Yeah, I'm gonna be reaching out to the community college down the street from us and hope they're open to chatting about it. We're aiming to set up a study class - the Accuplacer is more practical and in better reach for a lot of our students compared to the TOFLE. Mostly I'm trying to sort out where to draw materials to provide for teaching/studying. So... kind of wondering about the comparison of content to, say, the SAT or something like that.

I'm thrilled your mom's surgery went well!

You need to find some "Me Time" though and just relax and recover from the exhaustion!

Me on LJ while at work? Who? Where? False accusations! -_-

I actually found out last night that she's had two instances of several hours without pain meds due to needing doctor approval after... idek what. But owwww, makes my shoulder pain seem like nothing!

I am so looking forward to this weekend. Totally counting down the minutes here - especially since there's only like four of us still in the building and we're all admin. I'm also tucked far in the back in my office so I feel a little stranded. :p

I will always hypothetically envy your "alleged" ability to use LiveJournal while at work.

Oh that is definitely not good at all! Especially not right after a surgery! I'm glad your mom managed to get through it ok. I wish health care professionals were actually far more organized than they really are.

Stranded away from all of your co-workers? I know the feeling all too well. I hope the weekend managed to give you some recuperating time of your own!
