Yo, Twin Cities people...

Any of you checking in here in the Twin Cities? I just moved in this past Thursday and my apartment's finally progressed to a mostly-in-order state. I've now had two days alone without company and it's kinda sad. *sniffle* I'm looking to meet up and chat with people.

Even if you aren't around here or don't want to meet with me, I'm looking for recommendations of places to go and check out. Food is good to know about, but I'm kinda poor right now *facepalm* I would like to know about clubs/bars (particularly good gay bars) and social groups. I've joined meetup.com and have found a couple good groups through there. =)

I'm without internet in my apartment for now, though I have installation set up for this Tues/Wednesday. For now I'm spending my precious little money at the Dunn Brothers downstairs or relying on my iPhone for the basics when at home. Not really doing anything on LJ or many website things - e-mail, fb, and twitter. Probably will see me again when I get the net hooked up - but who knows? I'm hoping to find a job soon and connect with more people so I have a social life. The 19th sees me starting school, too.

Anyway, that's the update from my end. Been watching Darkwing Duck as I setup my place and did start some CSI (s3) last night. I miss MST3K, though. =( Can't wait for my internet to watch that again!

The Dunn Brothers downstairs doesn't have an opening? It'd be close, that's for sure, and free coffee might be nice. It's also an easy way to meet people, coffee shops are social places. That'd be my suggestion in short term.

Did get to talk to the owner today - he was really nice b/c although neither of his places have an opening, he suggested some of the other shops that tend to have openings. Just did an online app, but I think I'll call a couple of the places near me too so that they know I'm looking. After all, I have a lot of flexibility (unavailable only three evenings a week) and can start immediately.

Good to see you got your internet back, and that the owner of the Dunn Brothers downstairs had suggestions of where to go to work, that was nice of him. If I don't hear from you before the 19th, have fun at school.
