Gauging Interests & Seeking Opinions

*points at subject*

Fringe fans, please check out this post about future RP'ing and/or a round robin fic. Then...

Anyone reading here: Have any experience in roleplaying online? (Whatever format, really - on blogs like LJ or IJ, on forums... I'm not as interested in chat versions. Um, anyone know about RPs on deviantArt? I've not done research into that yet.) I'm especially looking for some comments from folks who have had a part in planning RPGs or developing graphics or layouts, etc.

Been RPing online on and off since 1997, from email to web versions to chat versions, just all over the place. Have helped plan them, and even ran one briefly in 2000. What sort of info/comments are you looking for?

(Howdy! How's it going?)

Well, I've been doing some research into RPs recently since there's one on a forum for Fringe (my current major obsession). I want to do something with the show but... the current RP just hasn't appealed much to me. So right now I'm looking to see if there's enough interest and willingness to participate in a new Fringe RP... and if there is, then I'm looking at doing set-up.

I guess I'm looking for any stories about particularly good or bad styles/formats. Um, and also if I'd be crazy to take on a set-up endeavor. (Would not be doing it solo, I'd wheedle at least one other person in to help.)

Erm, that clear enough?

That's great you linked the IJ comm! I've been looking at that quite intently, it's part of what inspired me to try stepping out and looking to possibly organize something.

Regarding player interaction, yeah, I'm not sure how much flexibility I'll need - lol. (I mean, I did RP... once.) And co-writing, oh man. I've tried that... at least twice. One of the stories was actually going pretty awesome, too (at least at my writing skill at the time =p ) since it was when we were in high school and literally worked on the story sitting next to each other. RP-ing I can see being easier to be flexible with cohorts than straight out cowriting, yeah.

Still, at some point in my fandom(s) career I figure I ought to participate in a round robin. ^_^

Thanks for the input!
